I am to suggest that
in
the light of this further information
the Consulting Engineers may be asked
to express a considered opinion on
the proposal in para. 4 of the Governor's

telegram of the 5th of March, as eluci-
dated in the enclosed extract.
The

points on which it is particularly
desired to obtain the observations of
the Consulting Engineers are as follows:-
(a) What, if any, the effect of this
work will be from the Harbour point of
view, (set of currents etc.).
(b) Whether the execution of this work
would involve the Colony in the annual
expense of maintaining a dredger and
continual dredging to maintain the
depth made.
(c) Whether, in the event of the Consulting
Engineers reporting unfavourably on (a) or (b)
or both, and in the event also of it being
decided
